Long overdue

Hi!Can you believe I am back?I have some sort of outdated pictures and some more recent ones however when you see the old ones I think you will agree that they were too good to not post. This group is from the fun we had the day we went to the apple orchard and then made caramel apples.

These are from a "camping" trip that the children took a few nights ago.The "sleeping" photos were posed. They thought those would be great to put on my blog. The odd one of Bryce was actually one I was trying to get of his daddy showing him how to back a semi but daddy got up before I snapped it so I got Bryce instead. You'll also notice that I was still a picture short to complete the show.

More Fall Happenings

We started out this morning with a golden corral breakfast buffet then went and got a few things from the store then went to a birthday party then took the much awaited trip to the pumpkin patch. The kids love it and it is such fun to watch them from year to year.We actually had some very cool fall weather but when the sun came out it was wonderful.Hope you all are enjoying fall as much as we are.

Fall Happenings

Saturday morning I got up and made a trip to Greenwood for some fall decorations that I was wanting then we went to a church fall get together. They played volleyball and softball grilled and had a hayride.Aaron thoroughly enjoyed playing ball even though they had a hard time believing him when he told them, before he hit two home runs, that he had had three kids since he has played softball. The weather was perfect if it had been a summer picnic. It was actually very warm for all the activity.Overall, the day was quite nice even though we were quite tired when we got home.

A day in the Life

Aaron came home from work early today and brought me these.

I thought these pictures portray the personality of this little guy quite well.

This is what he was doing with his hat after we refused to let him throw it out the window on the way home from church.

Aaron was sitting chatting with me yesterday while I sorted laundry, when Austin came down just crying as hard as he could and carrying the q-tip box.I knew that what he said as he walked up was,"there's a ball stuck in my nose"and as my brain quickly processed that I thought ,I know we don't have a ball in the house small enough to fit up his nose.So I said,"a ball up your nose"and he said,"yah,a piece of this ball"as he held out a super ball.So Aaron said Ok blow your nose as hard as you can.He blew a mighty blow and sure enough out came a colored piece of rubber.Aaron and I just burst out laughing. When we asked how it happened he said"I put it up there and I thought I could get it out.I guess the q-tips were to aid the removal process.

Our week

Now for a more recent update. Here are just a few pictures of things we did this week.
Emilee is working very hard on schoolwork and is doing very well on the tests she has taken so far.I am very proud of her.
While she did her school, the boys and I picked up three loads of sticks that were blown all over the yard from the winds we got from hurricane Ike.They were great little workers but Austin's favorite part was when he got to drive the tractor.we finally got enough sticks picked up so that we could mow.
Friday night my very helpful father-in-law brought his bobcat and did a bunch of demolition/escavating that needed done on my yard and my husband has not had time to do.It doesn't look great right now but it gets me a fresh start to landscape it the way I want it.

The terrible,awful,no good,bad day

or something like that.

Yesterday started out like a normal day except that Aaron had taken off work to rebuild a motor at home.I worked inside the house for a while then went out and was helping him on the motor. He had determined he was going to have to make a trip to Columbus for more parts so we were just finishing what we could before we left.
Before we got ready to leave,Daniel and Kristin stopped by so they could get fuel for their truck. All of the children took off to the creek to play. There is absolutely no water in the creek so I was not at all worried that they had gone down there. However, after several minutes we heard what we thought was Emilee screaming bloody murder.I was not even sure, though,if it was her or if she was playing so while the guys went running down the dry creek bed to where they were at, Kristin and I were still trying to decide if it was serious enough for us to go.We finally started hearing more children start crying so we decided we better go back and see what was going on.I met Austin part of the way back so I picked him up to try to console him as he's saying "Jozalyn is lost".I got him to quit crying then headed back into the woods carrying him part of the time.Sure enough Kristin was trying to get the other children into the yard while Daniel and Aaron were desperately searching for Jozalyn.I sent Austin back to where the others were so I could start my own search. For those of you who are not aware, our woods are very small and border a mowed yard and house on one end and fence rows up a good ways on both sides so we could not imagine why we could not find her.We began to get just a little worried about the pond at the neighbors even though she is a very avid swimmer. After several minutes(but not a long time)of looking Aaron said,"we better put an emergency call in",so he called 911 and gave her description and everything then we went back to where the children were to try to get more information out of them as to what was going on when she disappeared and stuff. While Aaron and I were with the children Daniel and Kristin were yelling her name more and more frantically all the time and when Daniel yelled once I knew I heard something so I yelled at the children to be quiet so I could here it again and sure enough it was her so Aaron took off in the direction that we had heard her and then I directed Daniel that way and he took off.Right as they yelled to let us know that she was, indeed, found, the police showed up.Quite the excitement!
With that situation over with,we headed to Columbus to grab a bite to eat and get parts. On the way,a noise that we had been hearing in the suburban got louder. We got to the shop and Aaron put it on the lift to check it out, only to find out that we couldn't drive it home so thankfully his dad's truck was there and we were able to switch everything to it and head home. When I was getting my final load out of the suburban and Aaron was getting ready to move it I slipped in a gravel patch and fell down.I was afraid Aaron would start moving and run over me so I hollered real loud to make sure he knew I was down. After he helped me in the truck we started our trip home,we realized ,as we were at the edge of town ,that he had forgotten the main thing he had gone for.We did finally make it home by 11:30 or 12:00,I think.
This is probably not your favorite post of mine but it's a little peak into my life that I thought my long distance family would be somewhat interested in.

I know this is way past due,(Like a whole month)but maybe ya'll will forgive me for at least three of those weeks since this place was a hectic drama.
I am going to try to do some catch up blogging so I will be posting several from the last month.
Austin wanted a "cars" birthday up until the time we went to the party store and he saw the John deere stuff so I had to revamp my thinking at nearly the last minute to adjust the cake accordingly. So if you notice the cars cupcake papers with farm animal cupcakes that would be why.We grilled for supper at the park.Nothing fancy just what he chose to do.It was really enjoyable.

The lost battle

This is what Bryce has looked like ever since he lost a fight with gravity while he was playing on the slide. In six more days he should have a different look. We're counting down even though he is doing really, really well with the cast.

Another Project

This is one of the projects that I did over last weekend.I got these chairs given to me so to make them coordinate with my dining room better I recovered them.It was actually very quick and simple but I was happy with the difference it made.

This is what they look like since I got done with them.

This is what they started out as.

FULL,FUN WEEKEND

We had a very fun filled weekend here and I thought everyone might enjoy seeing what we did.

Friday was Aaron's company picnic at the park that we have memebership to through Cummins. They mostly have a lot of fun things for the children to do but it is fun to watch them play. The park also has campsites. So, when we found out they were having the picnic there,we decided to take the camper over and stay the night when the picnic finished at eight. We,along with the children, were pretty wore out by the time it was over so we sat by the lake and watched the ducks for a while then I gave the children baths and tried to get them to bed so I could take some time to enjoy myself with a magazine.Well,a certain little boy of mine does everything he can to keep from going to sleep so I ended up sitting beside him trying to get him relaxed enough to sleep instead of enjoying the magazine.

This morning I made up french toast and fruit smoothies for us then we went to the paddle boats. The children love to paddle boat and usually like to help out with the paddling. However, this afternoon I got stuck on the bigger four seater boat with the boys, and Emilee and Aaron were on a two seater together after her and I started out together and couldn't get the boat to steer anywhere besides circles. The problem with that was that Austin was not in a paddling mood this morning so I got to do ALL the paddling for our big boat while Emilee helped Aaron paddle the smaller boat.Anyway,we enjoyed our thirty minutes of water time. After we finished there,Aaron and Emilee went back to hook up the camper while the boys and I went to the playground and waited.Austin loved the digger toy that they had in the sand and thought he would die because another little boy was on it for a very long time.He said,"mommy he's been on it longer than anyone else."He did finally get another turn before we

left.

Bryce had made a candy filled straw and when he tipped it he covered his face in powder. The ladies there were amused that I had to get a picture before letting daddy wipe it off.Emilee's tiara face paintingAustins puppy dog face painting.Daddy had to go on the big slide with Bryce.the boys were watching ducks on the lake

Austin insisted that he and Bryce match for the day

Austin said he didn't care if the mommy duck got him,he wanted one of those ducks.

I try to be photogenic but I just can't:)

Emilee had great success at the bubble booth and I was proud that I got this shot.

The sand and spin art pictures that the kids loved making

This is us at the photo booth:)A picture of a picture that is why the blur

Is this a classic or what?

I am going to try to get my posts in nicer layout form so you don't have to scroll thru fifteen thousand pictures but right now I am doing good to have time to post.
